Frequently Asked Questions

🍑 Peach Picking

Q: Are your peaches in season now?

A: Yes! Our peaches are now in peak season — Peach season typically runs from June through mid-August.

Q: What varieties of peaches do you have?

A: We grow over 20 varieties of peaches, and they ripen at different times. So there's always something to pick throughout the season.

Q: Do you sell peaches by the pound or by the box?

A: Both! Peaches are $30 for a full box, and $15 for a half box. It's $1.99 per pound if you pick less than half a box. We provide boxes for you to use.

Q: How can I tell which peaches are ripe?

A: If peach comes off easily with a gentle twist, it's ripe.

Q: Can I pick peaches that are still firm?

A: Yes, you can! Just lay them out in a single layer at home. They’ll soften over a few days to a week, and once they're ripe, you can move them to the fridge. It'll taste just as sweet and juicy as those ripened on the tree.

🌹 Rose Picking

Q: Are your roses award-winning?

A: Yes. Roses grown in the Gemini Peach and Rose Farm won the Dallas Rose Show with the "best hybrid tea" 5 times and won the Fort Worth Rose Show with the "best hybrid tea" 4 times. You’ll find these beautiful varieties right here in our rose garden. And they are only $10 a dozen, or $1 apiece.

Q: How do I cut roses at the farm?

A: It's easy and fun!

1. Grab a clipper from the table at the entrance.(Please do not use hand to break off rose stems))

2. Fill your container with water.

3. Head into the garden and look for blooms that are half open.

— outer petals unfolding, center still slightly closed. That's the sweet spot.

4. Snip the stem about 1 cm above a healthy leaf.

— look for five-leaflet stems if you can.

5. Place the rose straight into water

Tips:

— The ones that are fully bloomed don't last long, tightly closed buds might never bloom once being cut.

— A shorter cut just above a healthy leaf works best for the rose.

— Avoid cutting roses too far down the stem, especially on shorter bushes. Deep cuts can hurt the plant's ability to grow and bloom again.

Q: Do you provide scissors or clippers?

A: Yes — clippers are available at the entrance.

We kindly ask that you do not use hand to break off rose stems, as it damages the plant and affect further blooming.

Q: Do you sell rose plants?

A: Yes. And many are unique hybrids that you won't find anywhere else. They are $25 each.

Q: Do I need to bring anything for rose picking?

A: Please bringing your own container (bucket, jar, or vase) for collecting roses. We provide water and clippers.
